LEVEL A1:

This level is for beginners who have little or no knowledge of Russian language and represents a standard of initial competence in Russian which enables a candidate to satisfy his/her elementary communicative needs in a limited number of everyday situations. The learner will acquire a total vocabulary of 750 words.

LEVEL A2:

Strengthen basic language skills. Communicate in Russian language in simple daily life and work situations.

LEVEL B:

Successful completion of the Basic Level Course represents a standard of competence in Russian which enables a candidate to satisfy his/her basic communicative needs in a limited number of situations in everyday and cultural spheres. Passing this level is mandatory for those who wish to obtain a Russian citizenship by naturalization but it is not sufficient for foreigners to study at the Russian educational institutions, except for preparatory faculties (programs or courses). The learner will gain a vocabulary of 1300 words after doing this level.

LEVEL B2:

Speak Russian language fluently. Communicate in Russian in all daily life and standard situations.

LEVEL C:

This is an advanced level of competence in Russian which enables the candidate to communicate fluently in all communicative contexts, to do scientific research in Russian and to teach Russian in courses at an Elementary level. The candidate can participate professionally in philology, translation and interpreting, editing, journalism, diplomatic service and business management in a Russian speaking environment; receive Diplomas etc. The participant can understand a wide range of demanding, longer texts, and recognize implicit meaning. S/he can express him/herself fluently and spontaneously without much obvious searching for expressions. S/he can use language flexibly and effectively for social, academic and professional purposes. S/he can produce clear, well-structured, detailed text on complex subjects, showing controlled use of organizational patterns, connectors and cohesive devices.

LEVEL C2:

The participant can understand with ease virtually everything heard or read. S/he can summarize information from different spoken and written sources, reconstructing arguments and accounts in a coherent presentation. Can express him/herself spontaneously, very fluently and precisely, differentiating finer shades of meaning even in more complex situations.
